If you’re looking to live somewhere that’s always hustling and bustling with activity, then moving to the city might be the right move. If you’re moving to a larger urban center nearby, life in the city presents unique things to do every day and, in some cases, every hour.

Here are five reasons why moving into the city is worth it:

Opportunity

You might have a greater chance of finding a job in the city. Cities have larger labor markets, which means more job opportunities than suburban or rural areas. It’s not just an overused cliché: there’s more opportunity in the big city!

Diversity

Moving into the city opens more doors to a wide variety of cultures. Sick of eating at the same chain restaurants where you currently live? Is trying different cuisines your favorite hobby? In a city, you’ll always have a surplus of diverse options to fulfill your foodie desires.

Entertainment

There’s almost always something to do in the city, literally. Whether you enjoy music, sports, art, comedy, nightlife or something else, there’s usually a concert, game, exhibit, show or bar to go to for fun nights out on the town. Even better, the event is usually just a short walk or a quick drive away! No matter your preference, a big city has you covered.

Medical Care

If you’re concerned about potentially having to switch doctors or hospitals, have no fear! Many medical facilities in cities across the country are renowned for their excellent patient care. In fact, some of the best hospitals and medical professionals are based out of the city.

Public transportation

No car? No problem! In a city, there are plenty of alternative ways to get around. Along with getting a ride from a cab or a ride sharing, you can typically find a bus or a train that will get you where you need to go. Public transportation will save you money, time and the stress of being stuck in traffic!
